What if movement had room to breathe? Explore how tempo shapes movement, musicality, and expression. Through modern jazz technique and movement exploration, dancers will play with speed, contrast, and texture to bring greater intention and artistry to their performance.

Daejah Merrill is a Philadelphia native whose love for dance is rooted in the power of storytelling without words. Drawn to both jazz and modern technique, she is inspired by the strength, core control, emotional depth, and artistry these styles demand.

Daejah began dancing as a way to express herself beyond language, finding freedom in movement, musicality, and emotion. She is particularly passionate about exploring tempo, texture, and dynamics, blending speed, stillness, and varying movement qualities to create meaningful experiences both on stage and in the classroom.

As an instructor and artist, Daejah aims to cultivate confident storytellers who move with purpose and intention. She challenges dancers to explore their artistry, embrace vulnerability, and push beyond their comfort zones. Whether a phrase is fast or slow, powerful or subtle, her goal is for every movement to communicate something meaningful and for every dancer to discover new possibilities within themselves through the art of dance.
