Inspired by Isaiah 61:3, Beauty for Ashes explores the beauty that can emerge from seasons of burning, breaking, and becoming. Through foundational house steps, dynamic choreography, and shared movement experiences, dancers will explore what it means to push through pain, lean on God in difficult seasons, and become a source of support for one another.
NYLAH JACKSON, a dance artist from Upper Marlboro, MD, is driven by a desire to create spaces for self-discovery through hip hop. Her goal is to bridge the gap between dancers and non-dancers, encouraging people to explore movement beyond technique and performance. Through her work, she seeks to expand the possibilities of movement, cultivate connection, and empower individuals to discover new ways of expressing themselves through the language of social dance.
